| Complete House Re-wiring |
Many older houses have only the minimum number of sockets and circuits that were considered necessary when they were built, we are happy to provide an estimate to rewire such a house and add new sockets. However, today's high technology has led society to have a greater requirement for power and socket outlets and the demand has more than quadrupled. This often leads to the use of multi way adaptor plugs or extension leads, all of which are undesirable.
A full house rewire will not only bring the house in line with current regulations, it will provide the latest technology in fault protection and allow for a better and safer environment. We can provide a competitive estimate for a full rewire of a house, all you have to do is ask.
During the 1920's house wiring comprised of copper wires covered in cloth and usually surrounded in lead. The outer sheathing was superseded by black rubber in the 1940's and then by PVC in the late 1960's. The main conductor was usually copper, although some aluminium wiring was used in the 1960's due to the high cost of copper. Some houses, if continuously occupied, can, in some rare instances still have the lead coated wiring, in more frequent cases, still have the rubber coated wiring and for a large proportion of houses built from the 1960's onwards, still have the multi stranded copper wiring coated with PVC for the electricity to pass along. If this is a case and you need a house rewire estimate, then get in contact. However all of these wiring systems if over 40 years of age, are now considered to be out of date and should be considered for house re-wiring. This will give you peace of mind that your home is up-to-date with regulations, and will be re-wired by our professional team of electricians with minimum disruption to your home or business. |
